چکیده

Among the Sicilian economic productive sectors, that of wine production has today a considerable value. However, with growth this sector, notable was increase in waste, which to date is not only an damage for companies, but also threat environment. It known waste from properties (e.g., antioxidants) have potential reuse at cosmetic, pharmaceutical and nutritional levels obtain economically sustainable applications. A new goal given by recovery added value compounds agri-food wastes by-products. Grape seed oil promising vegetable fat cold pressing does involve use chemicals, are harmful health. implies cold-pressed oils may contain phytochemicals, as well natural antioxidants, more than refined oils. In context, works aims studying chemical characterization (triglycerides profile composition fatty acids) grape obtained Soxhlet pressed extraction red seeds white seeds. The possibility obtaining high yields triglycerides acids through methods would open up perspectives human animal food context. results work allow opening then reduce these wastes, helping environment costs companies create product environmentally important

Extraction of fatty acids from grape seed by superheated hexane.

Superheated hexane extraction has been tested for obtaining fatty acids from grape seed and compared with conventional Soxhlet and hot hexane extractions. Seeds from grape residues from a winery were dried for 46h at 105 degrees C, milled and sieved by particle size (d<0.42mm, 0.420.84mm). An optimization study of influential variables on superheated hexane extraction (namely ex...

Lipid biosynthesis in developing mustard seed: formation of triacylglycerols from endogenous and exogenous Fatty acids.

Cotyledons of developing mustard (Sinapis alba L.) seed have been found to synthesize lipids containing the common plant fatty acids and very long-chain monounsaturated (icosenoic, erucic, and tetracosenic) and saturated (icosanoic, docosanoic, and tetracosanoic) fatty acids from various radioactive precursors. The in vivo pattern of labeling of acyl lipids, either from fatty acids synthesized ...

Regiospecific Profiles of Fatty Acids in Triacylglycerols and Phospholipids from Adzuki Beans (Vigna angularis)

Regiospecific distributions of fatty acids (FA) of triacylglycerols (TAG) and phospholipids (PL) isolated from five cultivars of adzuki beans (Vigna angularis) were investigated. The lipids comprised mainly PL (72.2-73.4 wt-%) and TAG (20.6-21.9 wt-%), whilst other components were detected in minor proportions (0.1-3.4 wt-%). The principal profiles of the FA distribution in the TAG and PL were ...

PAHs, PCBs, PBDEs and Pesticides in Cold-Pressed Vegetable Oils

The aim of this study was to investigate levels of polychlorinated biphenyls (marker and dioxin-like congeners), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (EPA 15 + 1), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (14 predominant congeners) and pesticides (74 compounds) in various cold-pressed vegetable oils. Poppy seed oil, rapeseed oil, sesame seed oil, pumpkinseed oil, hempseed oil, linaire oil, borage oil and eve...

The Antioxidant Activity and Oxidative Stability of Cold-Pressed Oils

In our study, we characterized the antioxidant activity and oxidative stability of cold-pressed macadamia, avocado, sesame, safflower, pumpkin, rose hip, Linola, flaxseed, walnut, hempseed, poppy, and milk thistle oils. The radical scavenging activity of the non-fractionated fresh oil, as well as the lipophilic and hydrophilic fractions of the oil was determined using a 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhyd...
